Some days, it pays to get away from the city. Yesterday we did just that, driving up to the family farm, planting the San Marzano tomato seedlings that have been growing on our balcony, and generally getting some fresh air before the start of the week.
Spring is a particularly beautiful time up there, the fruit trees and peonies blooming against a mountainous backdrop. Our veggie patch is going strong, if not out of control. Zucchini is popping up, and we’ll have bell peppers, cucumbers and sweet peas (plus the tomatoes) for summer.
Here’s a peek into our escape to the country.
